Courage is the driving force behind all positive change, in our personal lives, in our work lives, and in our communities. It fuels us to do our best work, to do what’s right, to fight for what matters, and to never give up on being better each day. So it’s fitting that we are welcoming two very special new four-legged friends into the Petro Valve family. These pups are more than just pretty faces. They’ll be training hard to keep the peace in their communities. We’re partnering with K9s4COPs and K9s4KIDS to train and place these incredible animals in jobs that allow them to shine as the positive forces of change that they are.
The Paws of Petro
Meet Boo. He’s a Belgian Malinois, and he’s starting his training with his officer on April 8th, 2019. When he graduates, he’ll be a fully-fledged K9 officer fighting crime with Conroe PD.
Boo’s namesake is Boo Radley from Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. Boo is a quiet voice of justice, and he stands as a symbol of goodness in a world that is not always so kind. His name reminds us of the importance of being a force for good in our world.
Meet Scout. She’s a Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd mix. She starts her training on April 29th, 2019, and when she finishes, she will be working to make the schools of Cy-Fair ISD even safer places for students.
Scout’s namesake, like Boo’s, comes from To Kill a Mockingbird. Scout Finch embodies an understanding of humanity, both the good and the bad, and she demonstrates kindness toward the misunderstood. She reminds us of the importance of having the courage to be a voice and to confidently own it.
We’re so excited to welcome these talented pups into the family. Their work is the drop that ripples out and affects a thousand other lives. Their courage and the courage of those who work so diligently alongside them is part of what motivates us to keep giving back and to pursue our own passion of better work lives for all.
